Enterprise management paper tests the ability of a student considering variety of measures based on key issues associated with the
modern business environment. This is a different paper compared with the other subjects at the same level which primarily tests the knowledge. There is every chance that even a very good student failing the subject with very high subject knowledge due to lack of analytical skills.
The student has to be a strategist in the exam. This requires a higher level skill.
The student has to improve the reading ability based on a strategic perspective to identify the required key issues based on a given scenario. Therefore knowledge cannot be directly applied to a given question because the question requires a practical solution based on a given business context.
There is no right or wrong answer for this paper. The marks are allocated based on the analysis of the student and the justification of the relevant points based on the scenario.
Therefore students who pass the paper can have a variety of answers which are different from one another and from the CIMA suggested answer. The special revision is developed to enhance the additional skills required to pass the EM paper apart from Knowledge.
This focus is on improving the ability of the student based on application skills to pass the exam.
This programme is specifically developed to address the exact problems of students who were unsuccessful in the exam
Why this is called the Special Revision
This revision is developed targeting each individual student. A student will be analysed in detail based on a variety of KPI’s to ensure personal success. A scientific analysis of the May 2013 paper will be carried out to ensure deductive reasoning towards a categorical diagnosis.
The programme commences on 25th of July. This covers theory and practice for a period of 5 months. This is the most comprehensive revision programme in the world due to the duration, depth and the individual assessment.
The normal revision only focuses on the paper. This fails to understand the problems of each student. The special revision is developed based on each student, and therefore will guarantee exam success.
Importance of EM to Strategic Level Common Case
EM subject provides the fundamental basis for understanding a case study. The strategic level exam comprises a common case study which integrates all the 3 subjects ES, PS & FS. The common case is developed based on a business context.
The Enterprise Strategy subject provides the basis for developing the platform in analysing the case study.
This subject provides the direction for the solution based on evaluating the nature of the business, markets and strategy. The subjects PS & FS has to be analysed based on the direction of ES. The main syllabus of ES is developed through EM.
The subject EM provides the foundation for ES. Therefore a student with a clear understanding of EM will pass strategic level Common Case Study comfortably with the correct guidance and coaching.
