Not that he has any trouble hitting those high notes but, will he continue dressing the part, or is he going to come out with the truth? – It’s Steve’s call.

A life long dream hinges in the balance, as ‘Nobody’s Perfect or Love is All Around’ journeys around Steve De Zilwa’s amusing dilemma. Life is no walk in the park, as Steve has to deal with his unruly teen daughter and his conniving father, too add fuel to the fire. Amidst all the worry, the crew at ‘Silent Hands’ productions hope to cook up a storm of laughter on stage.

Silent Hands began as a group of theatre lovers working backstage for other directors who needed services such as stage management lighting and sound management. The first full length production undertaken by Silent Hands was William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in 2003 followed by an original work “The Legend of Excalibur” in 2004, “Yes Hon. Minister” in 2007, “Tom, Dick & Harry” in 2008, “Boeing Boeing”, and ‘Move over Mrs. Markham”. “Nobody’s Perfect or Love is All Around” comes after these highly successful plays and is in the good intentions of spreading laughter fused with a message.

The play will see a cast of young actors who are gearing up for the big stage. Kanishka Heart, 22, plays the confused Steve, while Avishka De Alwis, 22, gives life to Steve’s father, the old flirt – Mike. Trinushka Perera, 20, chips in as Abigail the carefree teen, while Neidra Williams herself plays the lovely Laurie, head of the publishing house.

‘Nobody’s Perfect or Love is All Around’ promises a sea of laughter, with its witty dialogues and subtle innuendos, while staying true to their intentions of going that extra mile past humour. Catch them on stage at the Lionel Wendt from the 8-10 February at 7.30 pm.
