A melting pot of music
View(s):MusicInMotion will perform music of legendary artists from different eras and genres in their new show ‘Hall of Fame’
‘Hall of Fame’, an evening of music in motion will be held on February 16 at the Bishops College Auditorium. The concert is presented by MusicInMotion, a show choir featuring some of Sri Lanka’s finest young singers and dancers who together perform music from different genres in a unique collaboration of music and motion. The choir is directed by Safra Deen, a Fellow of the Trinity College of Music London in Voice Performance and Choreographed by Natasha Burhan, a past senior advanced dancer of the Deanna school of dance. The pair co-produced their first show ‘Fame’ in 2010, which was performed by the Degree and Diploma students of the Royal Institute of Colombo.

A sell-out on both nights, ‘Fame’ was the beginning of a beautiful partnership between the two performers, who formed MusicInMotion to blend the soaring voices of their choristers together with smoothly choreographed moves. Past choristers of leading choirs from Bishop’s College, Royal College, Ladies College, S.Thomas’ College and Voices in Harmony form part of the group.
‘Hall of Fame’ will celebrate the music of legendary artists from different eras, covering a wide range of genres that include Broadway, Rock, Reggae, Salsa, Pop, Soul, Hip Hop, Jazz and Classical Sinhala music. Expect solo, group, choral and dance performances from the talented choristers. The show is in aid of the Animal Welfare Fund.
Hall of Fame will be held from 7.30p.m. onwards at the Bishops College Auditorium. Tickets priced at Rs. 1500, Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 (balcony) are available at the Bishop’s College Auditorium.
