Popular band Jayasri, based in Vienna, is billed to perform at ‘One Love Reggae 2013 Open air’, one of the biggest Reggae Concerts on the Long Beach Surf Café on the 19 January 2013 at Hikkaduwa starting at 7.00pm.

‘One Love Reggae 2013 Open air’ will feature Jayasri Twins along with the band X’otic some top DJs – DJ Jay Vibes, DJ Shyam, DJ Off Road and DJ Pula to make it a memorable night.

‘All the Reggae lovers and Rastafarians around the island are welcome to Hikka on. to share the positive vibes with us on this special day’ said Rohitha Jayalath, the leader of the Jayasri.

The tickets for ‘One Love Reggae 2013’ are priced at Rs. 1500/- per head. The Jayasri duo is now in Sri Lanka for Christmas and Festive season and they were seen in action at a number of outdoor concerts in and around Colombo. Rohitha and Roshan were seen in action at the many rock and reggae concerts in Negombo and Unawatuna.

‘We have started our Christmas season tour with a small ‘sing along’ session for the Children at Angels Children home in Marawila. We have continued with many stage shows around the island. It’s nice to reach for people and fans in far away locations too as they have very less chances to see us live’ he added.
They will be in action at a Lions Club charity event on the 18 January at the Bishops College Auditorium with many artistes. ‘We will be doing a spot and the band X’otic will be the backing band for the whole night’ Rohitha said.

‘Jayasri’ can perhaps be termed as Sri Lanka’s biggest export to the global music industry. Years of experience in performing in the world stage, especially the European music circuit, the band has occupy a top spot in the world music talent list, often being called upon to enliven cultural events, festivals, tours in all continents with their unique brand of music.

In this summer the band Jayasri will be performing some of the popular and prestige festivals, concerts around Europe together with some of the popular names in the world showbiz. ‘Fools Garden’, Julian Marley, ‘Sebastian Sturm and Band’, ‘Manfred Manns Earth band’, Hans Soellner, ‘Famara’, ‘Meddasi’, ‘Jobarteh Kunda’, ‘Jahcoustix’, ‘Jah Riddim’ are to name few.

The boys will be in action at Vienna Jazzfest, Afrika Tage Festival, Seasplash Festival in Italy, Reggae Summer in Germany. Apart from their tours across Europe, their studio work continuous positively on their new album.

‘We are hoping to release our new album by the end of this winter’ he added.  ‘We are working on some new songs for the forthcoming album and also some theme songs for films and teledramas including Director BooDee Keerthisena´s new venture ‘Nimnayaka Hudakalawa-Alone in a Valley’.
