Warnings of no use when GK bosses live life of luxury

Open letter to the President

Depositors of the failed Golden Key (GK) company are well aware of the issues you are currently faced with and apparently do not have the time to look into our long standing issue.

In such a case, at least the Governor of the Central Bank should have ensured that this long standing issue was expedited, as already there have been nearly 10 suicides by desperate depositors.

We strongly feel the Central Bank is at fault for firstly commencing an inquiry on the company and then suddenly calling it off. Why is the question asked by many, as GK was not registered with the Bank.

Had its operations been stopped at the inception, your Excellency, thousands of depositors would have been saved. There is no purpose placing full page advertisements now, about pyramid schemes, etc while those guilty are happy and continuing to lead a life of luxury.

Your Excellency, as the Bank comes under your purview, at least, at this late stage, you should ensure that the balance payments due tous are expedited. We are currently in the dark not knowing what is happening and whether, we could hope for any further payments other than the Rs 200,000 received two years ago.

We know that you have a shipload of ‘advisers’. So is it not possible to appoint one of these advisers to look into this problem faced by many senior citizens and others and expedite settlement, and importantly, ensure that assets of this company are not disposed of for a song to interested parties?

We are pleased with the development taking place around us particularly the beautification of the city, construction of highways, ports, airports etc. However we also need the funds to attend to our many health problems, have reasonable meals and means to travel to observe your development work. We seek your kind assistance, Sir, and know you won’t let us down.
