SLTTI conducts diploma in cinema
View(s):A Higher Diploma in Filmmaking, a two year study on cinema initiated by Sri Lanka Television Training Institute (SLTTI) was started at the SLTTI premises recently.
The opening ceremony for the course of 40 budding film enthusiasts was graced by acclaimed filmmaker and film expert Dr. D. B. Nihalsinghe. The Ministry of Mass Communication has started the course with the aim of promoting cinema industry in the country.
The course director filmmaker Inoka Sathyangani, veteran cinematographer M. D. Mahindapala and filmmakers Prasanna Vithanage, Vimukthi Jayasundara, Vishvanath Buddhka Keerthisena, Jayantha Chandrasiri and Prasanna Jayakody and film artistes Ravindra Guruge, Praveen Jayaratne, Nadeeka Guruge will contribute as resource persons for the course.
The lectures will cover a wide range of areas in cinema including history of cinema, screenplay, cinematography, editing, production, acting and art direction.
