Under-managed sectors need advanced training

Certain important sectors of our economy are visibly under-managed due mainly to lack of professionalism and therefore, the clear remedy is to provide advanced management and business training to key groups of managers and employees in those sectors, said the Minister of Petroleum Industries Susil Premajayantha. He made those observations while addressing a group of professionals, academics and businessmen at the World Trade Center where the Minister declared-open the training compound of the Graduate School of Management (GSM) recently.

 
Spellmaster - Southern Province Quarter Finalists found
Spellmaster, the all island schools spelling competition which is telecast on Sirasa TV and won the title of the best educational programme on TV in Asia last year is back and has reached the quarter finals. With this stage of the competition been conducted on a provincial basis last week witnessed the quarter finalists from Galle, Matara and Hambantota compete at Sujatha Vidyalaya Matara.
