Malinda and Chamara steer MAS Unichela

Test discard Malinda Warnapura and Chamara Silva steered MAS Unichela to a convincing seven wicket win over Janashakthi in their Singer MCA Premier League cricket encounter played at the BRC Ground yesterday.

The duo put an unbroken 149 runs stand for the fourth wicket with Malinda slammed an unbeaten 92 off 102 balls with 11 boundaries and three sixes while Chamara cracked a 53 ball 74 inclusive of eight boundaries and four sixes helping MAS Unichela chasing 244 for victory reach the target in just 34.1 overs.

Defending champions Sampath Bank recorded a 25 run win over Seylan Bank in their Singer MCA Premier League cricket match played at the Colts ground to secure their third successive win of the tournament.

Three wicket win for John Keells
John Keells recorded a three wicket win over new comers MAS Active in another match of the same tournament played at Reid Avenue yesterday. John Keells though restricting their opponents for a low score of 114 were made to fight hard for their runs as they lost seven wickets before reaching their target in the 32nd over.
