Win-Stone School of Culinary Art : Changing agents in the hospitality trade

Win-Stone School of Culinary Art is a leading establishment conducting courses in the field of Culinary. Since its inception in 2004 the school has trained over 2,000 students of whom many have found lucrative jobs in the hospitality industry here and abroad. Courses are conducted by reputed professionals who have over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry and are well known personalities in a practical manner with interactive courses.

The school's aim is to train and develop youth who are interested in the field of culinary and who wish to pursue a career in the industry. The courses are structured to ensure that the student gains an overall insight in to the needs of the trade.

Win-stone School has achieved many milestones since its inception. It was the first to launch an online cookery course in Sri Lanka. The school was associated with the Ministry of Higher Education under the Distance Education Modernization (Project) where it trained over 1000 students from all over Sri Lanka. Recently it obtained the TAFE South Australia Certificate of Recognition as the first offshore training provider in Sri Lanka in Commercial Cookery Level 3.

Headed by the dynamic Managing Director Ms. Iyanthi Goonewardene who set a milestone of being Sri Lanka's first female executive chef and who also achieved a first in obtaining the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from TAFE SA in the field of Culinary in Sri Lanka, the staff at Win-Stone are committed towards guiding the students achieve their personal goals whilst being aware of their social responsibility.

Presently the School offers the following courses:-
NVQ Level 3 & 4 Bakery and cookery
City & Guilds - Diploma & Advance Diploma in cookery /patisserie/ Food & Beverage
TAFE Commercial Cookery Level III
Online course in cookery, Food and Beverage
All courses are supported with value added courses in Fire Fighting, First Aid, English and Information Technology. The course duration is 06 months and the course material and uniforms are provided by the School.

In addition the school offers free consultation in relation to further education and work in Australia, UK, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Romania and other European countries for students who are interested in overseas prospects and will channel the students to the appropriate visa and migration specialist to handle their Migration, work and study solutions.

It is an ideal opportunity for students awaiting their results and those who are eager to follow a course in the hospitality industry. The School also proposes to commence a Diploma in the hospitality management in the near future.
