Institute of Personnel Management of Sri Lanka (IPM), having gained an in-depth understanding of the HR professional, have come forward again with many new study courses that would enhance the value of those who are currently engaged and are aspiring to be HR practitioners.

The success of any organization depends on its employees. The relationship between the employer and employee is very much important to the business and its success. A good and harmonious relationship between employers and employees are vital to existence, stability and growth of any company in the present context.

The Diploma in Industrial Relations and Industrial Law (DIIRIL) will enhance and update the knowledge already possessed by those currently engaged in managing people, specifically Human Resource Management.

It will be to the decisive advantage of the HR professional who wishes to have a specific understanding of the legal aspects that binds those with whom he interacts on a daily basis. It is also to the best advantage of the employers, who should ensure that those who manage their resources are amply armed with the correct knowledge and practicing skills.

It is earnestly hoped that DIIRIL will have a successful and important role to play in the legal-HR arena.
Diploma in Industrial Relations & Industrial Law is intended to sharpen the knowledge in the realm of law which guides the industries; and a felt need for those who are engaged in people management.
IPM, being in a pivotal position in training professionals in Human Resource Management, has at last, undertaken to meet this long felt vacuum.

The operational arm of IPM, the Business School explains the objectives of conducting DIIRIL as; To educate employers, personnel involved in HR & other managerial functions, Trade Union officials & members, and all other interested participants on matters that have a bearing on managing business and taking decisions on matters relating to effective management of their human resources.

For the long term sustainability and development of both the organizations and the economy of this country, HR Professionals with enhanced knowledge in Industrial Relations will be a felt need.
