Stop probe: Lanka tells UN chief again

Sri Lanka has made another bid to persuade United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to re-consider his decision to appoint a panel to advise him on accountability issues during the final phase of the military offensive against Tiger guerrillas.

 
Talks end Kelaniya liquor ban

The ban on liquor sales in the Kelaniya electorate was lifted on Friday, following a meeting with the owners and the newly appointed Deputy Media Minister Meryvn Silva, who is the MP for the area.
