Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The Struggle
By Aranya Dewanarayana (14 years), St. Joseph's B.V., Kegalle

The distance was lengthy,
He could walk no further,
'Cos it was rather strenuous,
In the dreadful weather.

The rain never ceased;
He was shivering with cold.
"I must move on!"
He tried to sound bold.

Nothing could stop him now,
From reaching his destination;
Slowly but steadily he proceeded,
And accomplished it with
satisfaction!

The struggle was worth it;
At last he was home,
Sheltered from the storm,
Safe and sound and warm!
