‘Julia’ comes for July

‘Julia’ the maiden production and direction of youngsters Charith Abeysinghe and Sampath Sri Roshan will be released on EAP circuit cinemas around the country from July 18.

A tragic love story revolving around two boys and a girl is played by Charith Abeysinghe and Sampath Sri Roshan who make their first appearance before the camera together with Nadeesha Hemamalee in the lead roles. The other main cast included are Ravindra Randeniya, Robin Fernando, Veena Jayakody, Sriyantha Mendis, Rex Kodippili, Sandun Wijesiri, Sanet Dikkumbura, Bandula Suriyabandara, Teddy Vidyalankara, Sasanthi Jayasekara, Harsha Bulathsinghala and Achala Walpola.

The film, a quadrangle revolves around the main characters Julia, Dilru, Dev and Shakie whose lives are intertwined and interlinked and Sampath and Charith play the roles as Dev and Dilru.

Julia is a girl who fascinates young men with her beauty and charm. Unfortunately, the youth (Dilru) who steals her heart is a cunning manipulator.

Julia falls head over heels in love with Dilru, not being aware of his calibre. Dilru flies to Sri Lanka from England after he is suspected of involvement in a murder of a young Sri Lankan expatriate. Julia’s whole life takes a new turn with this fateful meeting.

A joint effort of England-Sri Lanka, the artistes from two countries share the credit of the movie. While experienced cinematographer Donald Karunaratne handled the camera, Jenney Muun of England plays the role of editor.

Others in the local crew include Sujeewa Gunaratne as the art director, while the musical score is set by Ranga Dassanaike and Ranjit Prasanna who functioned as the assistant director.
