Chitrapati Dansala at BMICH

Vesak is celebrated with cinema at the BMICH where a series of attractive events including book fair, souvenir art and craft sale, Buddhist art exhibition, vegetarian food festival and Pandals are exhibited now.
Vesak Buddhist Film Festival held from May 9 to 12 is to be the main attraction that has joined the traditional Vesak celebration along wellknown Baudhaloka Mawatha.

Organised by Light of Asia Foundation and National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka audience will have the opportunity to experience international cinematic creations on the life of the Lord Buddha and the great teachings in Buddhism.

Among the other unique features of this festival are – a stupa formed by water fountains, Digital pandals, Photographic Exhibition, Exhibition of paintings together with recital of Bakthi Gee (Devotional Songs), a display of the process of ola-leaf book production, local and international competition of E-Vesak card competition and short films produced through mobile phones etc.
