Isham Ghouse back with a vengeance BATA- The Sunday Times Most Popular School Boy Cricketer 2009

Zahira College skipper Isham Ghouse came back with vengeance to increase his lead by over 3500 votes against his rival – the Peterite skipper Angelo Perera at the completion of count 13 of the Bata- The Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer contest.

Isham at the end of count 13 polled 2303 votes to end on 16172 votes while Angelo received only 246 votes to finish on 12314 votes. Isham now increases his lead to 3858 votes. The other standings are of less significance as neither of them would be able to match the duo.

Meanwhile in the outstation category Niwanka Abeyrathne skipper of Sri Sumangala Panadura maintained his lead but he polled a poor 63 votes to end on 1937 votes. But there is a big surprise coming from S.H. Indunil Kumara of Devapathiraja Vidyalaya Rathgama.

Indunil who was lying fourth having received 663 votes to end on 1624 votes leaped to the second slot pushing second placed Amith Tillekeratne who received only 19 votes down to the fourth place while Krishan Wickramarachchi remained in the third position.

In the International Schools category it’s Aadhil Niyas of Gateway International all the way. Aadhil though receiving only 35 votes yet maintains a lead of over 3000 votes over his closest rival Shanuka Peiris of Colombo International who has only 74 votes to his credit.
