An Exhibition of Children's art Sculpture and Photography

An exhibition of children's art sculpture and photography will be held on the 13th and 14th March from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the School hall.

This exhibition is held for the 3rd time and includes a display of more than 500 paintings, sculpture and photography to show the talents of the students of St. Lawrence's Convent. Every child from grade one to thirteen was given an equal opportunity to divert their tired minds towards a hobby that will develop the personality of our young children.

"Warna Sankalana Lama Sithkam Dakma" will be declared open on 13th March at 9.00 a.m. by an eminent artist Mr. Jayasiri Semage. Rev. Fr. Ranjith Madurawela the General Manager of Catholic schools and Mr. Karunamuni the zonal education director will be the guests of honour. This exhibition is open to both school children and teachers of Art.

On the 14th March, the 2nd day of the exhibition Rt. Rev. Bishop Marius Peiris, Reputed artist Mr. Charlie Dayananda, Mr. Sarukkhan - Divisional director of education will be the guests of honour.

On the final day, prizes will be awarded to motivate and encourage the students. The judges for this competition will be the senior teacher counsellor for art Mr. Vincent Perera and the Managing director of HomRun Pas Mr. Dayawansha Kumasaru. Prizes will be sponsored by the Homrun Pas Company.

A suvenior will also be released including the photographs of the winners and their exhibits. The children who have participated in these exhibitions in the past years have completed their education with distinction thus bringing honour to the school.

The teachers in charge of the senior Art section Mrs. Mangala Ratnayake, Miss. Sonali Pompeus and Miss. Kanchana Gunaratne of the Primary Art section have played a major role in organizing this exhibition. The silent force behind the entire success of this exhibition is none other than our Principal Rev. Sr. Chandrika Perera.
