‘Pinibindu’, a play on hide and seek

Pinibindu’, latest teleplay to join Derana TV revolves around the lives of young girls who make their way to the town from remote villages are now being screened daily from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm.

Scripted and directed by Janaka Siriwardhana, the miniplay stars Gihan Fernando, Gayan Wickramathilaka, Madhani Malwatta, Dilini Lakmali, Dharmapriya Dias, Dayadeva Edirisinghe, Ayesha Dissanayake, Wasanthi Ranwata, Asela Jayakodi, Demal Fernando, Sulochana Weerasinghe, Lakshani Wilathgamuwa, Tharanga Dissanayake, Sudharshana Bandara and Ganga Jeewani Weliwatta.

The central character of ‘Pinibindu’ is Christopher (Chris), an advertiser in is middle age. Born and bread in the city, he is an individual of pleasing disposition. An interesting quality of Chris is that he exposes a dual personality -a mixture of male and female gestures.

However this dual personality has not prevented him from his marriage to Poornima and he leads a free and an enjoyable life. And working for a non governmental organization Poornima, most of the time goes on duty and stay away from her home.

Chris also is an owner of an attractive house and five beauties who work for, Chris and reside in the same house Tania (Titty), Nirmalee (Nimmi), Wijayanthi (Wijee), Anoma (Anu) and Sharmaine (Sham) take the responsibility of maintaining and keeping it neat and tidy. It is also here that Chris runs his successful advertising business with the able assistance of the beautiful girls.

On a particular day, Nimmi while attending to her usual advertising matters meets with an accident which brings about a complete change in the activities and the pattern of work in the residence of Chris. This develops into a problematic situation which brings about a drastic changes in the modes of lives they had enjoyed.

In the technical department make up by Sajith Rathnakara, art direction by Sampath Wanniarachchi and lighting and camera by G. Nandasena. Edited by Jagath Weerathunga and music by Mahendra Pasquel, ‘Pinibindu’ is produced by Awanthi Wijesundera.
