2008 Raigam Tele Awards, for the fifth successful year will be held to felicitate talents and contribution of tele-creators to the television industry.
Organised by Kingdom of Raigam, the awards ceremony will be held on the evening of Friday May 15, 2009at the BMICH.
Tele-dramas telecast in the year 2008 over television channels (excluding cable TV and paid channels) in Sri Lanka will be considered for awards and tele-dramas, telecast daily or weekly and not exceeding 100 episodes will be evaluated and this year’s Awards Ceremony will have twenty eight awards including three new areas; the Best Up Coming Actor of the Year, the Up Coming Actress of the Year and the Most Humorous Performance of the Year.
“Started four years ago, the Raigam Tele Awards was gifted to the nation by the Kingdom of Raigam with the object of appreciation of the talents, creativities and contributions of tele-creators and institutions devoted to the progress of the tele – industry,” said Dr. Ravi Liyanage, the Chairman of the Kingdom of Raigam said.
A special feature of the Raigam Tele Awards-2008 is the awards for personalities and institutions that helped advancement of the television and tele-drama industry, and an honorary presentation to a very special personality.
Selection of most popular tele-drama actor, actress and the tele-drama as well as mega tele-drama will be by viewers vote and voting will be opened from April 1 to May 14, 2009.
Spectators will be able to send their vote via SMS on telephone number 0773-337337 up to 12 midnight on May 14 and the participants who name the winners will be presented with two tickets to enjoy the Awards Ceremony.
