Udesh Indula, 20 year old student from Moronthuduwa in Wadduwa has become the very first Derana Dream Star beating more than 22,700 contestants from all over the country.
Udesh was won the ‘Derana Dream Star 2008’ title at a one of the biggest and glamorous ‘American Idol’ type finals in the reality television history.
Twenty one year Milinda Sandaruwan from Kurunegala was selected as the first runner up to the crown, while 18 year old Nilupuli Dilhara, another singing star from Nittambuwa secured the third place.
Udesh fought for the battle for the past eleven months, before he struck the winning note.
Popular singers Nirosha Virajini, Rohana Bogoda and Keerthi Pasqual judged the contestants throughout the contest, while Athula Adikari and his team provided the music for all the contestants.
