Interaction

Some say, “Interact is more than a club, but a way of life.” This phrase, as cliché as it may sound, applies to a number of Interactors around the world.

The primary objective of Interaction 2009, organized by the Interact district 3220, is to inculcate power, friendship and the spirit of sportsmanship in the youth of Sri Lanka.

This epic sports gala commenced on January 10, 2009. Numerous Interactors, gathered at the Thurstan College Pool Complex, to be a part of Aquatic Interaction. The participants, representing their respective clubs, took part in water polo matches and a variety of swimming events. Also on the programme were fun events, including lime and spoon races and super slow swims, which were challenging, yet fun to all participants.

The second leg of Interaction 2009 was the very next day at the grounds of St. Peter’s College, Colombo. The scorching sun did not perturb the enthusiastic Interactors, as they participated in tag rugby, Six- a- side cricket matches and track events and after a tiring, fun filled day, participants went back home with memories to last a lifetime.

The two final phases of the project, including basketball matches and the quest was held on Sunday, January 18, at the grounds of St. Peters College. Indoor games, such as bowling, laser runner and pool, as well as an awards ceremony and after party will be held today.

The organizing committee would like to thank the main sponsor Tigo, the official magazine Chocolaat, official web sponsors Evoloop and media sponsors TNL radio network and The Sunday Times.
