CIMA clarifies

Correction

The Sunday Times report on the suspension of the Sri Lanka Divisional Council of CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) last week carried the wrong headline (‘CIMA suspends Sri Lanka Branch’) while the contents in the first para were also incorrect.

The headline should have read “CIMA suspends Sri Lanka Divisional Council”, while the contents in the first paragraph should have reflected the same, making clear that it was the council, an elected but volunteer body, that was suspended while the branch continues its operations uninterrupted. The error, pointed out by CIMA UK that suspended the local council, is regretted.
