Heavy fighting on Wanni front

Heavy fighting broke out yesterday after LTTE guerrillas launched a counter attack on troop positions at a point between Terumurukandi and Iranamadu.

The location is east of Adampan in the Wanni West area where heavy fighting is taking place. Reports last night said both sides suffered heavy casualties. Troops had to to re-position their defended localities in a part of the sector.
