Resurrection of legends of Sri Lankan Pop

‘Legends of Sri Lankan Pop’, spectacular star studded Concert will come alive at The BMICH on November 11. This is a brain child of Rajiv Sebastian, who originally introduced concepts such as Tribute to Clarence, Back to the 70's, 70's to the Millennium, 5 Star Explosion, Calypso Carnival, The Return of Desmond & the Clan. This mega event would include a rare variety of Sri Lankan entertainers living here and abroad, who represented the golden era of the 60's, 70's and 80's of Sri Lankan pop.

GDL back on stage with ‘Thotupola’

When G.D.L. Perera produced the stage play "Thotupola", in August, 1964 on the touchy subject of race relations between the Sinhalese and Tamils in the country, no one would have had any premonition to the extent that relations between the two main ethnic groups would deteriorate in the ensuing years. But given the simmering ethnic tensions even four and half decades ago, G.D.L.Perera knew it was a subject that needed to be addressed in the public forum if the two communities are to learn to trust each other and live in peace.
