Muthalib at the helm of TT in Kandy
 

Table Tennis in Kandy received a new lease of life when former Sri Lanka Paddler Manzil Muthalib was appointed president of the Kandy District Table Tennis Association.

Muthalib Managed the Sri Lankan team that participated in the recent South Asian Junior Championships in Karachi. Two players from Kandy Sukhita Wickremanayake and Prabodhana Rodrigo (an Anthonian Junior) did well.

Last year, the KDTTA conducted four tournaments. Dilmini Direckze, a former national champion, conducted courses for coaches. In addition, Malinda Ellepola, Sri Lanka’s leading coach, conducted practices for the players in the different pools. Priyani Dissanaike is the new Secretary and Susantha Nugawela, the Treasurer. The Vice Presidents are Dr. Prasad Amaratunga, Dilmini Direckze. Dr Rohitha Hanangalarachchi, Heshan Bulunawewa and Samansiri Ratnayake.-AK
