CIMA EGM on August 5

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Sri Lanka at the request of the membership will hold an Extra – ordinary General Meeting (EGM) on August 5 to clarify the accounts which were not ratified by them at the stormy annual general meeting (AGM) held last month.

“The CIMA accounts have been audited by H.L.B. Edirisinghe and Company, an audit firm. But the CEO was unable to give the breakdown of some information that was requested by the membership. This prevented the accounts being passed at the AGM by the members,” a member who was present at the AGM said. The AGM had taken the longest time ever, when members had questioned CIMA Sri Lanka accounts, which both Mr. Aruna Fernando, immediate Past President and Mr. Bradley Emerson, CEO CIMA Sri Lanka were unable to answer.
