A Night Inspired by Ancestral Heritage at Nuga Gama
View(s):‘A Night Inspired by Our Ancestral Heritage’ will bring an extraordinary cultural experience to life at Nuga Gama at Cinnamon Grand Colombo on May 7 and 8, starting from 7.00 p.m.
The special two-night event will feature performances by members of Sri Lanka’s indigenous Aadivasi Vedda people, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience their ancestral traditions through music, dance and storytelling. The programme aims to bring to life the sights, sounds and stories of a rich heritage that continues to be an integral part of the island’s cultural identity.

This unique dining experience offers a curated spread of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, accompanied by live traditional music and captivating cultural performances, all set within a rustic, village-inspired ambiance designed to transport guests back in time at Nuga Gama in Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
A key highlight of the evenings is the presence of Sri Lanka’s indigenous Vedda people, who will showcase their rich cultural traditions through performances such as the ‘Kiri Koraha’ dance and Vadi Gee (indigenous songs). Guests will also witness traditional demonstrations including Dunnen Widima (hunting practices), fire-making using ancestral techniques, and ritualistic elements such as ‘Kiri Koraha Shanthikarmaya’, offering an immersive glimpse into one of the island’s oldest living heritages.
