Catholic literary awards ceremony held

The ‘Kithu Abhiman Sahitha Samman 2025′ Catholic literary awards ceremony, organised jointly by the Sri Lanka’s oldest Catholic newspaper Gnanartha Pradeepaya and the Gnanartha Pradeepaya Writers’ Forum, was held on April 10 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute auditorium in Colombo 7. The event was presided over by the Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith.
Journalist Lilie Agnes Siyambalapitiya is seen receiving the Chira Kalina Samman (Lifetime Achievement Award) from the cardinal.
The Best Religious Book award went to Shiran Maithri, Deputy Editor of Gnanartha Pradipaya, for Santhuwar Weeraliya Nodirane Siruru 2, presented by lyricist Dr Rathna Sri Wijesinghe.
