‘Wife’ marks 50 days

Sri Lankan film ‘Wife’, directed by award-winning filmmaker Sameera Naotunna, has successfully completed a 50-day run in cinemas, marking a notable milestone for the locally produced movie.
The film explores the subtleties and emotional clashes within a modern marriage, centring on Madhava and Nirmala, portrayed by Hemal Ranasinghe and Udari Warnakulasuriya.

Director Sameera Naotunna, who first drew attention with his award-winning debut ‘Motor Bicycle’, shows notable maturity in his latest film Wife, confidently handling the audio-visual language of cinema.
The supporting cast features Dineth de Silva, Veena Jayakody, Lakshman Mendis, Priyantha Seneviratne, Nethali Nanayakkara, Rukshana Dissanayake, Piyumi Botheju, Priyantha Lalith, Hiruni Ranasinghe and Dinithi Walgama.
Behind the scenes, cinematography is by Chinthaka Somakeerthi, with art direction by Dhammika Hewaduwatte and makeup by Buwaneka Ranawaka. Sound design is handled by Aruna Priyantha Kaluarachchi, while editing and colour grading are by Tissa Surendra.
Music direction comes from Chitral Somapala, who also lends his voice alongside Rohitha Jayalath for the film’s playback songs, written by Sameera Naotunna. The film is produced by Waruna Aramage.
