Universal College Lanka (UCL) is proud to announce the launch of two prestigious British degree programmes in Cyber Security – the BSc (Hons) Cyber Security and the MSc Cyber Security– offered in partnership with the internationally recognised University of Lancashire, UK.

At a time when cyber threats are growing in scale and sophistication, the demand for highly skilled cyber security professionals has never been greater, including in Sri Lanka. These new programmes are designed to equip Sri Lankan students with globally relevant knowledge, practical expertise, and a British qualification that opens doors worldwide.

The BSc (Hons) Cyber Security is a three-year undergraduate degree (four years with the optional industry placement year) that provides a strong foundation in computing and information security, and practical skills. Students will explore key areas such as network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cryptography, secure software development, and cyber risk management. The programme blends theory with hands-on practical learning, enabling students to work with real-world tools and scenarios. Graduates will be well-prepared for careers as security analysts, penetration testers, cyber security consultants, and IT security officers.

For graduates and working professionals looking to specialise further, the MSc Cyber Security offers an advanced one-year postgraduate pathway. This programme delves deeper into cyber defence strategies, incident response, advanced network security, cyber law and governance, and emerging security technologies. With a strong emphasis on research, critical thinking, and industry application, the MSc prepares students for leadership roles in the rapidly evolving digital security landscape.

What sets UCL apart is its industry-aligned approach to education. The curriculum is delivered by qualified academics and industry practitioners, ensuring students gain both academic rigour and practical insight.
