Changes to National Colleges of Education curricula
View(s):The Education Ministry will introduce significant changes to the curricula of National Colleges of Education (NCEs) including plans to upgrade them from diploma to degree level courses, Deputy Minister Madhura Senevirathna said.
The NCEs curriculum has not been changed or upgraded in 16 years and was lagging behind, he said.
The quality of education is dependent on teachers, he said, and with the new curriculum the government will introduce advanced educational technologies and world-class curricula.
The changes will include courses on working in smart classrooms and with better technology, he added. (DWI)
