With the purpose providing a preparation ground for intended long distance runners who are eager to take part in the upcoming IronMan 70.3, Eco Fitness Solutions has made arrangements to hold the Road Race 26 on February 14, with category of races to select. The Road Race 26 will flag off near the Nondescript Cricket Club (NCC) premises at Maitland Place at 6:00am, and will feature four race categories, attracting runners from all age groups as well as all walks of lives.

The event organisers have made arrangements to provide an event t-shirt and breakfast to all registered participants, who are set to race in any of the four categories available. The four events include 2km, 5km, 10km and 15km races that would flag off the same time, but finish at different phases according to the distance. The 2 kilometre race, which will flag off near the NCC, will run through R.G. Senanayake Mawatha, Wijerama Mawatha and Vidya Mawatha before completing again at the NCC. The 5 kilometre race, which also starts near NCC, will run through R.G. Senanayake Mawatha, Wijerama Mawatha, Sarana Road, Longdon Place, Maitland Place and back at NCC.

After flagging off near NCC, the 10 kilometre race will run through R.G. Senanayake Mawatha, Wijerama Mawatha, Sarana Road, Longdon Place and Maitland Place twice, before reaching the finish line near NCC. The same route will apply for the 15 kilometre race, but the runners will have to cover course four times. In addition, the organisers also have included a Couple Run segment to the 5km event.

The event, according to the organisers, is held with intention to promote health, endurance, and unity through running and also as an excellent warm-up opportunity for Ironman 70.3 athletes. Intended athletes will be able to register their entries at https://forms.gle/YeH6ytjNkzwmmWRu8 before February 7.
