Wildlife Dept plans cartoon competition for students
View(s):The Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) has called applications from students interested in taking part in an island wide cartoon competition which would be held for wildlife day.
The competition will be in digital as well as other art mediums, while the winner will receive a certificate and cash prizes.
The department has also planned to arrange a cartoon art workshop for students taking part in the competition. The workshop will be held in Colombo under the guidance of professional newspaper cartoonists. The department will supply art equipment and food and refreshments.
It is essential for students entering the competition to take part in the workshop, which is aimed at providing knowledge about cartoon art.
Students willing to take part in the workshop should fill the application issued by the DWC and email it to wildlifeday2026@gmail.com before December 31, or via registered post to Cartoon Art Workshop, Publicity Unit, Department of Wildlife Conservation No811/A, Jayanthipura Rd, Battaramulla.
The DWC will inform the date, time and venue of the workshop via the DWC website and Facebook.
