MAS Holdings launches ‘Plan for Change 2030’
View(s):South Asia’s largest apparel-tech conglomerate, MAS Holdings, launched its Plan for Change 2030 at a special event held at Cinnamon Life, Colombo recentlly.
The launch marks an important new chapter in the company’s sustainability journey, outlining an ambitious roadmap to reshape the future of apparel through measurable commitments across Product, Lives, and Planet, the company said in a media release..
The event featured a keynote address by Brooke Roberts-Islam, a London-based journalist, author, consultant, and sustainability advocate. She also moderated a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring Supun Weerasinghe, Group Chief Executive Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC; Shay Sethi, CEO and Co-founder, Ambercycle; Nemanthie Kooragamage, Director – Group Sustainable Business at MAS Holdings; and Takafumi Kadono, Country Director – Asian Development Bank.
In her address, Ms. Brooke spoke of the vitality of leadership in driving sustainability, while the panel explored the real opportunities and pitfalls of executing sustainability strategies in the business world, sharing insights and learnings from each sector.
Building on the success of the company’s performance against its 2025 targets, the Plan for Change 2030 marks MAS’ next step in embedding sustainability across its business operations and value chain. It extends the company’s progress in key areas, including investments into circularity through partnerships with HeiQ AeoniQ™ and Ambercycle, the restoration of over 25,000 acres of biodiversity, and the approval of its near-term emissions reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), alongside a commitment to achieve net zero by 2048.
Through this next phase, MAS is introducing new benchmarks that deepen its impact across every part of the business. The plan targets 75 per cent of company revenue to be generated from sustainable products by 2030, supported by continued investment in circular design, next-generation materials, and regeneratively grown natural fibres.
With women comprising 70 per cent of the workforce, MAS is also expanding initiatives that strengthen fair care policies, promote holistic wellbeing, and build resilient communities through education, livelihoods, and inclusion.
