Lecture on mass blooming of Nelu in Horton Plains

A lecture on the ‘Mass blooming of Nelu in Horton Plains: A magical 12-year phenomenon returns in 2025’ will be delivered by plant taxonomist, ecologist and conservationist, Dr Nilanthi Rajapakse, at 6 pm. on Tuesday, October 14, at the New Biology Lecture Theater (NBLT), Department of Plant Sciences, University of Colombo.

The lecture is organised by the Natural History Society of Sri Lanka.

Dr Rajapakse who discovered three new species of Nelu has authored the book ‘Strobilanthes’ (Nelu) along with a pocket guide featuring an identification key. She is Editor-in-Chief of the international journal ‘WILDLANKA’ of the Department of Wildlife Conservation, and Chief Coordinator of the WILDLANKA Annual International Symposium.
