Prof E A Weerasingha felicitated

An appreciation ceremony was held at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura to honour Professor E. A. Weerasingha, founder and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University, who was named ‘Sri Lanka’s Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year 2025′. Organized by the university’s Alumni Association, the event was held under the patronage of Chancellor Ven. Ittapane Dhammalankara Nayaka Thera and, for the first time, brought together six former Vice-Chancellors.
Speakers at the event noted that he has led more than 21,000 students since NSBM’s inception, created a university free from ragging, and contributed to saving foreign exchange by retaining students who might otherwise have studied abroad. A commemorative plaque was presented to him by senior academics and dignitaries in recognition of his contributions to higher education and national development.
