Colombo Set to Make Music History as Ne-Yo Performs Live

Colombo is set to witness a historic musical extravaganza as popular American R&B sensation Ne-Yo, a three-time Grammy Award winner and acclaimed songwriter, takes the stage for the first time at the Sugathadasa Outdoor Stadium on December 28, 2025.
Known for his unmistakable voice, dynamic performances and commanding stage presence, Ne-Yo has established himself as one of R&B’s most influential artistes. Beyond his successful solo career, he has shaped the music industry through his songwriting, penning chart-topping hits for global superstars including Rihanna, Beyoncé, Mario, Pitbull and Celine Dion too.
Celebrated for soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, Ne-Yo is best known for hits such as ‘So Sick’, ‘Miss Independent’, ‘Closer’ and ‘Because of You’. Over his illustrious career, he has earned 16 Grammy nominations with three wins, achieved 18 RIAA Platinum-certified songs and scored 12 Billboard Top 10 hits, cementing his reputation as a defining figure in contemporary music.
Fans in Sri Lanka can look forward to a night of R&B classics and electrifying performances as Ne-Yo brings his globally acclaimed sound to Colombo for the very first time.
Speaking at a press briefing held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel via Zoom, Ne-Yo expressed his excitement about performing in Sri Lanka for the first time.
‘I’ve always wanted to perform in Sri Lanka, and I’m thrilled to finally bring my music to the people there. Thanks to my colleague and brother Amith Boteju, who has made this project possible. It’s going to be a night to remember and I can’t wait to share my biggest hits with my fans in Sri Lanka’ he said.
The concert is proudly presented by ‘Brown Boy Presents’, under the leadership of Amith Boteju , who is Co-Founder of ‘Brown Boy Presents’ with Ne-Yo & CEO. Commenting on the upcoming show, Boteju said, ‘Bringing Ne-Yo to Colombo is not just about hosting a concert; it’s about creating a historic moment for Sri Lanka. Our mission has always been to put the island on the international entertainment map, and this event is a significant milestone in that journey’.
This landmark event expects an audience exceeding 20,000, providing state-of-the-art audio, visual, and pyrotechnic experiences. A unique “club” concept around the stage will offer exclusive VIP and VVIP experiences, including dedicated table service, premium food and beverage areas, and optional backstage passes.
Aligning with Sri Lanka Tourism, this event is positioned to attract high net-worth tourists, boosting local tourism and enhancing Sri Lanka’s international image. International promotional efforts will cover South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
This historic event is made possible with the support of Cinnamon Grand, Mastercard, Scope Cinemas, Emerging Media, Pickme, Wijeya Newspapers and Artiste Connection, all working together to bring Colombo a night to remember.
Tickets for Ne-Yo’s concert are priced at Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 12,000, with VIP and VVIP options on higher scales also available. Sales are set to begin on September 1.
