ICT law conference
View(s):The ICT Law Conference 2025, under the theme “ Law in the Digital Pulse”, is set to take place on August 2, at Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo.
The event promises to attract national and international attention from stakeholders across the legal, governmental, corporate, law enforcement and technological sectors.
Organised by the ICT Lawyers’ Guild of Sri Lanka, the conference serves as a platform for dialogue regarding the evolving legal frameworks essential to navigate the challenges posed by the country’s digital transformation. It will convene jurists, policymakers, ICT innovators, legal practitioners and corporate leaders dedicated to upholding justice, safeguarding rights, and fostering innovation in the digital age.
Founded under the leadership of Dr Sunil Abeyaratne AAL, the Guild fosters regional and global collaboration on digital legal issues while empowering Sri Lanka’s legal community with knowledge and tools for effective governance and justice in the contemporary landscape.
The conference is structured on three core objectives: to explore legal responses to emerging digital threats, including cybercrime, online privacy violations and the misuse of artificial intelligence; to assess the effectiveness of current legislation and regulations about e-commerce, data protection and surveillance; to encourage cross–sector dialogue among the judiciary, law enforcement, ICT experts and policymakers, cultivating a harmonised legal environment suited for a rapidly digitising society.
