A new comedy film bringing together some of Sri Lanka’s most popular and viral social media personalities is currently in production under the direction of young and dynamic filmmaker Suranga Alwis.
Titled ‘Eka Thamai Meka’, the film features a star-studded lineup of seven famous YouTubers- Ranga Jayakody (Jana), Chamal Rathnayake (Priya), Rathindu Rathnayake (Retta), Lochana Jayakody (Lochi), Lakmal Weerasiri (Laka), Shan Arosha (Sika) and Janith Rupasena (Cyril Aiya), along with Sanjana Onali. They are joined by well-known cinema and teledrama actors including Kalana Gunasekara, Ananda Wickremege, Piyumi Botheju, Damitha Abeyratne, Ariyasena Gamage, Nilmini Kottegoda, D. B. Gangodatenna, Munedha Mihiraja and others.

Scripted by Suneth Malinga Lokuhewa and Priyantha Vidanapathirana, ‘Eka Thamai Meka’ is a family-friendly comedy promising laughter and entertainment for audiences of all ages. The film’s cinematography is handled by Gamini Moragollagama, with Chathurika Sandamai on makeup, Sineth Malaka Pathirana overseeing editing and visual effects, Sashin Gimhan Perera on sound mixing, and Ananda Bandara in charge of colour grading. Lakruwan Lokuhapuarachchi serves as production manager.
A joint production of Evoke Rupahala Films and Sangitha Films, this marks the seventh directorial venture of Suranga Alwis, who aims to capture the vibrant energy of social media culture on the big screen.
