Sri Lankan audiences are in for a thrilling treat this July as Sirasa TV brings the globally popular quiz show ‘Catch Point’ —a franchise held by ITV, the franchisee and owner of ‘The Voice’—to local television screens, marking the first time this unique format is being telecast in an Asian country.

Scheduled to premiere on Saturday, 12th July, ‘Catch Point’ will air every Saturday and Sunday at 7.30 pm, promising edge-of-the-seat entertainment that blends general knowledge with fast-paced physical action.

Hosted by popular actor Yash Weerasinghe, this 50-episode series of ball game is unlike any traditional quiz show. Here, getting the right answer is only half the challenge, contestants must also catch a ball to score points. In a game where speed, coordination, and presence of mind matter just as much as intelligence, viewers can expect a lively mix of suspense, competition, and excitement.

Each episode of ‘Catch Point’ features two teams of two players who go head-to-head across four escalating rounds:

Solo Catch tests individual knowledge, where players must pick the correct answer from ten options. A pink ball signifies a correct choice, while a blue one denotes an incorrect answer — but catching either could still secure points.

Double Catch raises the stakes with smaller balls and fewer answer options, demanding sharper focus and teamwork.

Quick Catch is a race against the clock, with teams answering as many questions as possible within 45 seconds, combining speed and timing to perfection.

The Final Round sees only the leading team face two final questions for the chance to win — or even double — their cash prize. But there’s a twist: failing to answer both correctly forfeits all winnings.

‘We are proud to introduce ‘Catch Point’ to Sri Lanka and to Asia. This programme isn’t just a quiz show; it’s a complete family entertainment experience that brings innovation and energy to weekend television’ said a spokesperson for Sirasa TV

Adapted from the original UK format and localised to suit Sri Lankan audiences, ‘Catch Point’ blends strategy, spontaneity and sport in a way that’s never been seen before on regional television.

With its combination of gripping gameplay and high-energy presentation, ‘Catch Point’ is set to become a prime-time favourite, appealing to viewers of all ages.
