‘One Buddha One World’ pilgrimage with Connaissance De Ceylan
View(s):Connaissance De Ceylan recently hosted a remarkable spiritual pilgrimage titled ‘One Buddha One World’, bringing together 80 devoted participants from across Asia, including Taiwan, China, India, Thailand, Bhutan, Vietnam, Laos, Bangladesh, Nepal, Singapore, and Indonesia.
From 28th May to 3rd June, the group embarked on a sacred journey across Sri Lanka’s most revered Buddhist heritage sites. Their itinerary included Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Dambulla and Kandy, each destination offering profound insights into the island’s rich spiritual and cultural tapestry.

The tour was led by Venerable Mugunuwela Anuruddha Thero, Secretary General of the All-Island Buddha Sasana Council of Sri Lanka. A highlight of the pilgrimage was the inauguration ceremony of ‘One Buddha One World’, held on 31st May at the scenic Aliya Resort and Spa. The special event drew a gathering of over 300 Bhikkhus and laypersons, who came together to partake in a traditional dana (almsgiving) ceremony—symbolizing the timeless Buddhist values of compassion, generosity, and unity.
This unique convergence of spiritual seekers not only celebrated Sri Lanka’s enduring Buddhist legacy but also reinforced the message of harmony and shared heritage among Buddhist communities across the region.
