A quick-fire 145, which came off just 98 balls, including 19 boundaries and four sixes by Gayana Weerasinghe, and 92 runs by Pahasara Bandara were the highlights of the second day’s play in the drawn 40th Battle of the Rocks big match between Maliyadeva College and St. Anne’s College concluded at the Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala yesterday.

St. Anne’s, starting from their overnight score of 133 for 3, went on to score 219 for 8 before declaring, and Maliyadeva, batting in the second innings, helped by Gayana and Pahasara, ended the day with a formidable score of 326 for 5.
