Rain hampers restart of domestic cricket
Rain hampered much of the proceedings of the three-day restart of the Major Club domestic cricket tournament, which would have been the second day of play yesterday. On the first day, only five matches were able to be conducted and they too were forced to be called off due to heavy rain, while no play was possible in the remaining five matches.
Yesterday, on the second day too, play was mostly hampered as only two matches were able to resume after overnight showers caused wet outfields from the five games.
BRC, who resumed from their overnight score of 174-3 were 382-7 against Galle CC, after half tons from Lakshan Gamage, Risira Weerasinghe and Nimanda Subasinghe bolstered their innings. The matches will continue today.
