Gypsies led by Piyal Perera released their latest song ‘Chande’ last week. ‘Chande’ is the very first song created and recorded by Piyal after the demise of his brother Sunil Perera in September 2021.

Continuing the usual political satire of Sunil, Piyal created ‘Chande’ while he was touring in Canada early this year.

‘This song is a reflection of society, a mirror held up to the world. It does not intend to criticize or favour any specific political party. Its purpose is to shed light on the universal problem of corruption and to inspire each one of us to take a stand for integrity, honesty, and transparency in all spheres of life’ said Piyal.

‘Chande’ was penned by Piyal and modified by Chandradasa Fernando and the melody was created by Piyal himself. The song was mixed and mastered by Ranga Dassanayake.

Dushan Jayathilaka, Milan Fernando and Susantha helped Gypsies in recording the song with Keyboards, Percussion and Mandolin respectively.

Gypsies now comprises of Piyal Perera( Leader and vocals), Monique Wille on vocal, Lal Witiwala on drums, Ranga Perera on bass, Renuka Prebhath on lead guitar, Ravi Terrence on keyboards and Shenal on guitar and vocals.

The song is now on the web and already passed the 55K hits on YouTube.
