“Perceptions’23” an art exhibition by the Art Society of Thurstan College, Colombo took place on March 2 and 3 at the J D A Perera Gallery of the University of Fine Arts in Colombo.

Organised as an all-island inter-school art competition under 7 competition divisions, paintings of children from 396 national schools across Sri Lanka were displayed at Perceptions’23, which was launched based on the idea of Principal Pramuditha Wickramasinghe.
Nearly 5,000 paintings were received from invited schools, and 700 paintings were selected by a panel of experts.

Perceptions’23 proved to be a unique opportunity for students restricted to their homes due to the Covid-19 epidemic to express their thoughts, as well as to highlight skills and bring forward new creators.

The exhibition was launched under the chairmanship of Education Minister Dr Susil Premajayantha. The prize giving ceremony was held on March 2 at the College Auditorium.
