Gateway girls and boys claim badminton titles

The unmatchable Gateway College shuttlers dominated over Lyceum International School, Wattala to clinch the Inter-International Schools Under-18 Girls and Boys Badminton Championships 2022. The Gateway teams remained unbeaten throughout the tournaments, and their very own national player, Rashmi Mudalige, was adjudged Best Female Player of the Tournament.

The Gateway boys beat Elizabeth Moir International School at the semi-final while the Gateway girls defeated Stafford International School in their semis. To the teams’ credit, most matches were won with considerable margins.

In the boy’s category final, Gateway Colombo beat Lyceum Wattala 3-1. On the way to the top Gateway Colombo beat Elizabeth Moir 3-1 in the semi-final, while in the group matches, they beat Lyceum Wattala 4-1 and Lyceum Nugegoda 3-0.

In the girl’s category final, Gateway Colombo beat Lyceum Wattala 2-1, after overcoming Stafford International 2-1 in the semi-final. In the group matches, Gateway girls beat Colombo International School 3-0 and Lyceum Wattala 2-1.
