The lights go on amidst the darkness

The streets of Colombo have come alive with Christmas celebrations and decorations.
Most parts of the city have been illuminated, with hotels too putting up their own decorations. Christmas trees have been erected at key areas of the city.
The Colombo backdrop has been colourful with the lights of the lotus tower standing out as one of the key landmarks of the city.
The Municipal Council building too is showered with colourful lights. Independence Square, Kollupitiya Roundabout, telecom tower, Rajagiriya flyover, and the Presidential Secretariat too were illuminated.
The suburbs of Colombo, as well as main towns have also been decorated.
