Mr Wickremesinghe was speaking after visiting a model classroom equipped with tablets and wi-fi connections.

The classroom was at Sri Jayawardenepura MV Kotte, one of the oldest schools in the Western Province. “The project aims at bringing cloud technology, tablet devices into classrooms, to provide opportunities available to students in developed countries,” he said. “Our expectation is to introduce this Education system to schools over the next decade,” he said.
