Study on eco-friendly paint for the construction industry

Shearmal Lihinikadu, who works at Lankem Ceylon Ltd, has published a research that deals with factors that influence consumer buying of eco-friendly paint products.

He has said that many paint manufacturers offer solutions without elaborating on chemical reaction of those paints to humans, environment and buildings in the longer run. This research investigates the sources of influencing the buying behaviour of consumers towards the eco-friendly paint products which would enable consumers to plan and save their time and money, plus health.

Mr. Lihiniakadu holds a MBA from the University of Kelaniya, and works as Manager, Special Coatings at Lankem Ceylon PLC. He was guided in this research by Hemantha Jayasinghe – Director General of the Central Environmental Authority. He is currently reading for a Doctorate at the University of Kelaniya.
