Deepal V. Perera was re-elected President of Kalutara Town Club, one of the oldest cricket playing clubs in the country which was founded in 1888 when they held its 129th Annual General Meeting.

Kalutara Town Club currently engaged in playing Premier tier B first class cricket. The club went in to history books in the game of cricket in Sri Lanka by winning first ever inter club tournament held in the island, The Daily news trophy in 1938 under the leadership of Sir Cyril De Soyza.
