The Sri Lanka-Bangladesh test match

The recently concluded Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Test Match ended in a victory, for the visiting side. It was Bangladesh’s centenary Test Match.

Well Done Bangladesh. Well played Sri Lanka.

Sadly, since there were only tests, the series ended in a tie. Why not the usual third test in Kandy? As for Bangladesh, there could have been a third test.

All praise should go to the Bangladesh side, the selectors, and to all those concerned with Bangladesh cricket.

The Sri Lankan Chandika Hathurusinghe is the coach. Dav Whatmore who was born in Sri Lanka coached our World Cup winning team. Thereafter he coached Bangladesh.

As a schoolboy, he came to Kandy with the Australian boys’ team. They played a game at Asgiriya, when Nimal Maralande of Trinity captained our side.

All those interested in cricket, I am sure, will want to wish Bangladesh, all that is best as they move from Colombo to Dambulla for their next match in Sri Lanka.
